This position will work PM shifts to oversee the kitchen for the Drum Room historic bar and Providence restaurant. Candidates should be self-motivated and excel with minimum supervision.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (other duties may be assigned)
Assisting, supporting, training and developing kitchen team members.
Preparing fish, meats, and other food items according to recipes and company standards.
Overseeing work of other kitchen team members.
Inspecting all food sent from the kitchen visually.
Ensuring compliance with food safety, cleanliness and sanitation standards.
Preparing requisitions for food and supplies, as needed.
Assisting with menu development.
QUALIFICATIONS
Two or more years of related culinary experience, including supervisory experience, is strongly preferred.
Ability to obtain Kansas City Food Handler permit is required.
ABILITIES
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays to meet business needs.
Ability to demonstrate knowledge of menu and all food products.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to make continuous and repetitive arm-hand movements (i.e. slicing or chopping food).
Ability to bend or stoop repeatedly during the shift (i.e. removing items from stoves, ovens and refrigerators).
Ability to lift and carry between 20-50 lbs over short distances (20 feet or less).
